Dr. Tommy Jensen
Dr. Tommy was born and raised in Sioux Falls, attending Lincoln High School where he was active in basketball, tennis, and marching band. After graduating high school he attended Augustana University, where he studied exercise science and played basketball for the Vikings. He was then accepted into Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida Campus where he earned his doctorate of chiropractic (DC). During this time he honed his passion for human biomechanics and a global approach to patient care. While in school, much of his time was spent in the rehabilitation and sports performance center working with athletes and active individuals as they worked to return to the activities they love.
Dr. Tommy is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and member of the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA). In addition to this, he has authored award winning research comparing the muscle protein synthesis rates between soy and whey protein following resistance exercise. Encouraging biomechanically authentic movement patterns is a true passion of Dr. Tommy’s and one reason why he has taken additional training to become a FAKTR certified provider, and is Certified in Applied Functional Science (CAFS) through the Gray Institute. Dr. Tommy utilizes an integrative approach when it comes to patient care, combining manual therapy, dry-needling, spinal and extremity manipulation, soft tissue manipulation (IASTM, cupping, etc), and rehabilitative strategies to effectively treat his patients.
Dr. Tommy also serves as a family medicine clinical instructor at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine.
In his spare time he enjoys hiking, playing golf, and spending time with his fiance and their Bernedoodle named Moose. He can be contacted at [email protected]
